Point to Point (Average Speed) Speed Cameras in Queensland

Point-to-point speed cameras involve measuring the average speed of vehicles over long distances, rather than at just one moment in time.
If the vehicle’s average speed is higher than the speed limit for the length of road covered, between cameras, the driver can receive a speeding infringement.

Point-to-point speed cameras to catch more speeders

Point-to-point speed cameras involve measuring the average speed of vehicles over long distances, rather than at just one moment in time.
If the vehicle’s average speed is higher than the speed limit for the length of road covered, between cameras, the driver can receive a speeding infringement.

Average Speed Camera (P2P) systems have now been installed at:

  • Bruce Highway (southbound direction), between Landsborough and Elimbah, and
  • Mount Lindesay Highway (north and southbound direction) between Jimboomba and Park Ridge South.

Road Policing Command Assistant Commissioner Mike Keating said advisory signs had been installed at all locations in preparation for the operation of these new road safety camera initiatives.

This may be the beginning of more, with the message being, keep your average speed down too.
