Detectives have declared a crime scene following the shooting of a man at Alexandra Hills this afternoon, Thursday, 23rd April 2020.
Around 5.15pm, police were called to an address in Cambridge Drive to reports a 24-year-old man had been shot.
The man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
Two men were confronted by an off-duty police officer a short time later in Wellington Point, where one man was detained, and a firearm was located.
The second man fled on foot and he was tracked by dog squad to a nearby property, where he was located hiding in a house.
Both men are assisting police.
Investigations are continuing.
Detectives are urging anyone who has any information about the incident or who was in the vicinity and has dashcam footage to contact police.

South Brisbane detectives have charged a man over a shooting incident in Alexandra Hills yesterday afternoon.
Three men were inside a Cambridge Street address around 5pm when a 24-year-old man was shot in the stomach.
The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
A 27-year-old Cornubia man has been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, armed robbery, dangerous conduct with a weapon, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts each of deprivation of liberty and trespass.
He is expected to front the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.
