Armed robbery charges, Alexandra Hills
Police have charged a woman after an alleged armed robbery at a takeaway in Alexandra Hills yesterday morning.
It will be alleged at 9.45am a woman has entered the Cambridge Drive store and threatened a staff member with a knife, demanding money.
The male staff member exited the rear of the business with another staff member and contacted police.
The woman remained in the store for a couple of minutes before along Finucane Road and police located her a short time later hiding in a garden in Kingston Avenue.
A 40-year-old Alexandra Hills woman has been charged with one count of armed robbery and enter premises with intent. She is expected to appear at the Cleveland Magistrates Court today, October 16.
The 21-year-old male staff member was not physically injured.
