Armed robbery, Cleveland
A man has been charged following an armed robbery at a Cleveland hairdressers this morning.
Police will allege a man approached a staff member at the Bloomfield Street business around 9am producing a syringe and demanding money.
After taking cash from the business the man also allegedly took money and a bank card from the staff member. The man then left after being disturbed by other staff.
It will be alleged the bank card was used to withdraw money.
The female staff member was not physically injured.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, fraud and obstruct police and two counts of armed robbery. He is expected to appear at the Cleveland Magistrates Court tomorrow (January 7).
