Burglary with violence, Russell Island
Police are investigating after a man was assaulted in a caravan at Russell Island early this morning.
Around 2.20am the man was asleep in a caravan at Harvey Street when he was woken by two people, both described as teenagers, a male and a female, entering his van.
Following a verbal altercation the man was struck several times on the head by the male teenager with an unknown object.
The victim has started to push the both teenagers out of the van when a third person outside has called on them to leave.
As the three ran off the male teenager has used the unknown object to smash a window of a vehicle parked on a driveway.
The three were last seen running south on Harvey Street.
The male teenager is described about 15 years old and wearing dark clothing. The female teenager is described as possibly 13 years old and was also wearing dark clothing.
The victim, a 63-year-old Russell Island man, was taken to the Redlands Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening head injuries.
Investigations into the incident are continuing with police calling for anyone who heard or witnessed anything in Harvey Street early this morning to contact Crime Stoppers.
