Fraud by a Centrelink employee
For some years a Centrelink employee has been running a part time cash business cleaning local houses. This has brought in about an extra $6,000 per year in undeclared CASH income.
An example of just one year is:
2007-2008 a total of $5,825.00
This income was never declared in Tax Returns or annual FTB reports, resulting in an overpayment of Family Tax Benefits.
This has been happening from 2006 right up to at least 2011.
Full figures are now being prepared for both the Austalian Tax Office and Centrelink for each relevant year.
This includes customers names and addresses for verification.
