Drug enforcement, North Stratbroke Island
This week local police on North Stradbroke Island mounted a joint drug enforcement operation in conjunction with the Roadside Drug Testing Unit.
Police performed 95 Roadside Breath Tests and 23 Roadside Drug Tests resulting in 3 positive indications which will require further testing and investigation.
Search warrants were executed on two Point Lookout residences.
Police allege a 60-year-old man had possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs, a drug utensil and paraphernalia at the first address on July 1.
The 60-year-old was charged with one count each of produce dangerous drug, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of utensil, and possession of a thing used in connection with dangerous drugs. He is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on July 29.
The second residence was searched earlier today and police will allege a 38-year-old local man had possession of cannabis, cannabis seeds, and two water pipes.
The man is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on July 29 charged with one count each of produce dangerous drug, supply dangerous drug, possession of dangerous drugs with a circumstance of aggravation (due to the quantity located), and also charged with possession of a drug utensil.
