Update – Missing man located, Thornlands
An 81-year-old man missing in the Thornlands area since Monday has been located deceased.
The man was reported missing from a residential complex on Cleveland-Redland Bay Road after he had not been seen since Monday night.
Police and SES crews conducted an extensive search of the area and the man’s body was located in an area off Cleveland-Redland Bay Road this morning.
The man’s death is being treated as non-suspicious.
Police would like to thank members of the community and the media outlets which did publicise the matter for their assistance in the search efforts.
Police are currently searching for an 81-year-old man reported missing from a residence at Thornlands overnight.
Risto Kettumaki (pictured) was last seen at the Cleveland-Redland Bay Road residential complex around 7pm yesterday.
Concerns are held for his wellbeing as he suffers from a medical condition.
He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 173cm tall and balding with grey hair.
He was last seen wearing a light coloured jumper with dark slacks and dark dress shoes.
Police are currently searching nearby bushland and walkways.
