Sexual assault, Wynnum
Detectives investigating the sexual assault of a woman in Wynnum on Sunday night are appealing for public assistance.
Around 11.30pm on January 4, a woman was sitting on a table in the picnic area of the Lower Esplanade of the Wynnum foreshore when she was approached by a man from behind and threatened with a sharp object.
Following a struggle, the man sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing on foot.
She was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for medical treatment.
Police have door knocked the area and are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact Crime Stoppers.
Police are looking for a man who is described as being around 35 years old, of Indian appearance, around 160cm tall, of a solid build, short slicked back hair and with a small amount of facial hair – consistent with about two or three days growth.
