Lamb Island, Queensland, 4184
The treasure of Moreton Bay is often used to describe Lamb Island, also known by the Aboriginal name of “Ngudooroo” which means “paper bark trees”.
It is the second smallest of the southern Bay islands, measuring about 2 kms by 1 km.
When I first moved to this area, I was told that Lamb Island was only about one hour from both Brisbane Airport and the Gold Coast.
Unfortunately it was never mentioned that the 1 hour did not include the time taken to get from the island to the mainland!!
