Unlawful use of a vessel charges, Cleveland
Police have charged two men following the alleged theft of a 10 metre charter boat from a marina in Cleveland on Friday night.
It will be alleged at around 9:30pm on March 10 the vessel was stolen from where it was moored at a marina on Masthead Drive.
The vessel was reported stolen to police on March 11 and officers from Redland Bay Water police conducted patrols with the assistance of Raby Bay Volunteer Marine Rescue.
At around 10am yesterday the vessel was located unoccupied approximately one nautical mile east of the South Bay Passage (near North Stradbroke Island) by Volunteer Marine Rescue.
Subsequent investigations by police resulted in two men being taken into custody this morning.
A 40-year-old Thornlands man and a 42-year-old Woodridge man have both been charged with unlawful use of a vessel, stealing and wilful damage.
They are due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 13.
