Weapons charges, Redland Bay

Police have charged two teenagers following an incident earlier this morning in Redland Bay.

Just after 10am, police were called to a disturbance on Shanahan Street where a teenage boy and girl had allegedly threatened two people, alluding that he had a knife.

Police located the boy and girl nearby in a park on Penzance Drive and after further investigation allegedly located a knife and a quantity of drugs in his possession.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with one count each of possession of a knife, assault and possessing dangerous drugs.

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with one count of public nuisance and two counts of possessing a dangerous drug.

Both will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
